Monday-
- Met with Reatha she was amazing and so ready for the gospel.
Tuesday:
- Got an oil change finally
- Sister in our ward got us some pizza for dinner
- Went to institute
Wednesday:
- Zone conference was so good!!! The messages were really good. I loved the emphasis on being kind and focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Kind of a cool experience, I had written down in preparation before it a little thought and then our mission president said word for word what I had written the day before. Then someone quoted a talk I had listened to that morning… good channeling into the spirit I suppose. Oh I also loved them talking about making the sacrament for us and not worrying about our friends the whole time… I needed that I'm always so caught up in trying to help our friends I forget this is for me as well.
- My new favorite song is Simeon of Cyrene
- Got to see some good people I love dearly
- Drove two hours home and taught the young women
- Had some crazy social media miracles. Found two really really cool friends and then I reached back out to someone I messaged in the past and she actually responded that she was interested but had broken her phone and then forgot all about me.
Thursday:
- We met a referral Micheal and he is the MOST ready for the gospel. Hearing his story we saw how God has been preparing him for this!!! We had an amazing spirit filled lesson. We clicked so well. I know I needed to teach him. So glad God knows where to send me. I should trust a little more.
- We visited a recent convert and did some cleaning for her. She had a stroke and has a really hard time getting around and her family isn't super helpful. Makes me so sad
- We did some serious knocking and found AMAZING new friends. A cute lady named Pauline was so excited to come to church. Diamond was a cute new mom and was also excited. We knocked into a new married couple who was literally moving in that moment( like literally walked into their house for the first time 5 minutes earlier) anywho she use to go to church but didn't know where she'd go in this area!
- Taught some good social media lessons
Friday:
- Made the yummiest smoothie to start off the day.
- Had institute at Kent State and did some finding. Which was super humbling to be back at a college and talking to people my age and facing rejection. It's good character development. Although we did find 4 new friends in about 10 minutes
- Had a lesson with someone from Kent State over the phone In the freezing cold but it was so worth it. He is awesome!
- Had a lesson with another recent convert and a service missionary. It was so good and at the end the service missionary gave us the best compliments that I needed to hear.
Saturday:
- Finally had a great personal study for a few days I was having a hard time getting through the war chapters in Alma but after mighty prayer and diligent effort I learned some good stuff and stayed fully awake.
- Had a few meetings about social media and leadership stuff
- Our friend Jeremy told us he knew the Book of Mormon was true… about threw up
- Had Chipotle my favorite
- Found some awesome new friends
- Accidentally ended up in THE hood. Had some grown man keep yelling that we need to leave immediately for our safety. Would not leave it be. We will return one of these days with elders. That street has my interest.
- Met with a cute 8 year old who's preparing for baptism. His family prepared a feast for us! All food from their country
- Did a Great British bake off with the YSA. If you don't know I'm addicted to that show and miss it dearly
Sunday:
- Right before church two of our friends had to cancel… so so sad BUT Tiffany a referral came! She has the coolest story. So her boyfriend got her into some real trouble. Long story short she ended up in jail for a minute but she gets out and the boyfriend is now joining the church and completely 360 his life and shares this with her and insists she gets in contact with us. So she does! She is amazed at the change and happiness she sees in him. She's a baller lady. Literally so ready for the gospel. A member taught her the whole restoration at church! He said he couldn't help it he was reminiscing about his mission. So awesome to see him still in missionary mode after so many years. Anywho she loved church, loved sunday school!!
- Church became slightly overwhelming with the responsibilities thrown our way. Had a little inner crisis moment of who am I? The mission can really give you an identity crisis.
- Did some knocking and everyone was so nice but not interested besides the very first two people we talked to!
- Did some fun member stop bys and no one answered
- Did some social media work. Taught lexi the friend I had reached back out to and her phone had broke. Anywho she was so interested so we called and taught her the whole restoration at the end she asked for the Book of Mormon before I could even invite her to read it and wanted to find the closest church to her…. wHAt?? She said when I pray about it should I share my experiences with you ahhh of course of course. Set up a time to meet again.
- Had a mission devotional
● This email is a wreck. I apologize. I had no time to write this week so I had to do a recap this morning.
● A small spiritual thought. I had a whole melt down in sacrament hearing the testimonies of our ward. The spirit slapped me in the face. Only one friend came to church BUT we are here for THE ONE. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and what an honor it is to be apart of gathering my brothers and sisters. It truly is all worth it if we only bring one soul unto Christ. A sweet old lady had to be basically carried by two men up to the pulpit, so she could bare her testimony. Just seeing that made me sob but then she tells her story about how missionaries came to her house and long story short her whole family after that joined and she had kids serve missions. Then another lady shared how she came to the gospel through her son who was taught by missionaries. Anywho the spirit really took over and had me thinking deeply about these messages. It is all about the one but somehow one has a ripple effect. I can't even put into words how special it is to think a missionary changed these ladies lives and in a ripple effect changed their families lives. I started thinking about my sweet friends Micheal, Doug, Keith, Kenny, Latonya, Socrates, Micheal part 2, Kailyn, Reatha, Dina, Jeremy, etc and what an honor it has been to teach them. When I left Solon it really was like leaving home again but those friends came with me. I sent Micheal from Solon an email because I was watching a video and couldn't help but think ahhh he needs this. I feel like I can't just teach someone and then move on and stop teaching them. I forever want to teach them and be apart of their journey. I desperately miss them but that's a good thing.
● Jesus Christ did come for the one and for us all but our relationship with him is personal when we think about his atonement we way falsely think it was a blink of the eye and he felt everything but I believe one by one we came up to him and he spent time with us to feel every single thing we would feel, do, and go through. He did this for every single one of us, personal, fully encompassing, Atonement of Jesus Christ
